Have you thought about opening your own Home Day Care
in the State of Alabama?


If you have, you must be licensed by the Alabama Department of Human Resources. Contact the Department of Human Resources Family Services Division at (334)242-9500 and request to speak to Child Care Intake. A packet of information will be mailed to you upon your request with information on how to begin you Day Care. You can also download the Minimum Standards For Day Care Centers from DHR by clicking on the link below:

Once you are ready, a DHR representative from your county will visit your home to verify you meet all current Minimum Standards. You may also be required to have a business license from your city. Check with your City Hall to make sure. If you need any additional information, visit the DHR website for Child Care at the following link:

Then, you are ready to join the Healthy Kids CCFP Food Program!
